Kildeintroduktion:
I 2012 udgav den norske organisation Studentenes og Akademikernes Internasjonale Hjelpefond (SAIH) i samarbejde med det norske Operation Dagsværk og det sydafrikanske produktionsselskab iKind Media sangen ”Radi-aid: Africa for Norway” som blev startskuddet til SAIH’s årlige kampagne ”Radi-aid”. Musikvideoen blev udgivet som en satirisk kritik af de kendte støttesange om Afrika som eksempelvis den britisk-irske ”Do They Know It’s Christmas?” (1984) og den danske støttesang ”Afrika” af Nanna Lüders (f. 1963) fra 1985. Ifølge SAIH er formålet med musikvideoen at udfordre gængse opfattelser af fattigdom og udviklingsproblematikker, at ændre måden hvorpå udviklingsorganisationer kommunikerer og at nedbryde skadelige stereotyper om udviklingslande. Musikvideoen er i 2019 blevet afspillet mere end 3.400.000 gange på YouTube og skabte ved udgivelsen stor opmærksomhed internationalt.
Projektet blev støttet af The Norwegian Agency for Development Cooporation (NORAD) og Landsrådet for Norges barne- og ungdomsorganisationer (LNU).

I am basically heading up a team that’s getting Africans together in this time of need for Norway. You know - helping them out. A lot of people aren’t aware of what’s going on there right now. It’s kind of just as bad as poverty if you ask me. Sunlight puts smile on people’s faces. People don’t ignore starving people, so why should we ignore cold people? Frostbite kills too. Africa, we need to make a difference in Norway. We need to collect our radiators, ship them over there, and spread some warmth, spread some light and spread some smiles. Say yes to raid-aid!
